Accountant / Assistant Accounts Manager

Job Summary

We are a growing manufacturing company seeking an experienced Accountant / Assistant Accounts Manager to lead financial operations and support strategic financial planning. This role offers ownership and career growth opportunities toward managerial responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage partial sets of accounts including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger, and independently handle full sets of accounts when required to ensure accurate financial records.
• Lead and supervise accounts staff to deliver timely and precise financial operations and reporting.
• Prepare and submit GST returns punctually and accurately, and complete monthly financial closings and management reports to support business decisions.
• Collaborate with the CFO to develop budgets, manage cash flow, conduct cost analysis, and contribute to financial planning initiatives.
• Assist in year-end closing processes, coordinate with external auditors, and prepare statutory reports compliant with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
• Perform bank reconciliations, monitor cash flow, and manage payment schedules to maintain financial stability.
• Provide ad hoc financial analyses and reports to inform management decision-making.
• Support inventory costing, fixed asset tracking, and job costing to ensure accurate cost management.
• Assist with administrative and compliance tasks related to HR-finance coordination, documentation, and regulatory submissions as directed by the CFO and GM (HR).

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 3 consecutive years within the same company.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or senior-level accounting experience demonstrating leadership and workflow management.
• Strong proficiency in accounting systems, Microsoft Excel, and other MS Office tools.
• Solid understanding of SFRS and local statutory regulations.
• Knowledge of Singapore employment regulations, work pass procedures, and Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies is advantageous.
• Willingness to work one Saturday per month.
