Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN/WLAN network infrastructure.

• Manage routing and switching operations using Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent network devices.

• Monitor network performance, availability, and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

• Implement and manage network security controls including firewalls, VPNs, and access policies.

• Configure and support enterprise network services such as DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, and QoS.

• Support network upgrades, expansions, and migration projects.

• Ensure network compliance with cybersecurity and organizational standards.

• Provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support for network incidents and escalations.

• Work closely with system administrators, cloud engineers, and security teams.

• Maintain detailed documentation for network topology, configurations, and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in network engineering and infrastructure support.

• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and concepts:

  • TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, STP, VLANs

• Hands-on experience with networking hardware/software:

  • Cisco Routers & Switches, Juniper, Fortinet, Aruba, Palo Alto

• Experience with firewall and security technologies:

  • VPN, IPS/IDS, ACLs, Network Segmentation

• Familiarity with wireless networking solutions:

  • WLAN Controllers, Access Points, Wireless Security

• Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools:

  • SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark, Nagios

• Knowledge of cloud networking is a plus:

  • AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, Hybrid Connectivity

Preferred Certifications

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

• Juniper Networks Certification (JNCIA/JNCIP)

• Fortinet NSE Certification

• ITIL Foundation (added advantage)
