Product Owner / Business Analyst (ISO 20022, Payment Messaging, Banking)

We are looking to hire an experienced Product Owner / Business Analyst (PO/BA) to drive ISO 20022 implementation and initiatives for our client in Singapore which is a top global investment bank.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and drive ISO 20022 implementation and enhancement initiatives, ensuring alignment with regulatory and industry timelines.
• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, and vendors.
• Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements related to payment applications and message format changes.
• Translate requirements into user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with development and QA teams.
• Manage and prioritize the product backlog to ensure timely delivery of key milestones for ISO 20022 adoption and subsequent releases.
• Coordinate and support testing, integration, and go-live activities.
• Collaborate with SWIFT, payment network operators, and internal compliance teams to ensure conformance with message schemas and regulatory standards.
• Conduct impact analysis, gap assessments, and root cause investigations for issues encountered during testing or production rollout.
• Monitor post-implementation performance, capturing feedback for continuous improvement and future releases.
• Stay relevant on updates related to ISO 20022, translating these into business and system requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in the banking or fintech domain, preferably in payment system projects.
• Proven experience driving ISO 20022 implementation or migration projects, including message mapping, validation, and testing.
• Possess understanding / experience with payment messaging standards and systems such as SWIFT, MX, MT, FPS, RTGS, or cross-border payments.
• Techno-functional skillset — able to bridge business objectives with technical requirements and engage confidently with IT teams.
• Proficient in requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder management across business, compliance, and technology teams.
• Knowledge of ISO 27000 will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
