Job Description

About the Role

We are establishing a new regional service workshop in Singapore and are seeking a hands-on Service Manager to lead service delivery for TDLAS (Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy) gas analyzer systems across the Asia-Pacific region.

This role combines technical expertise with operational leadership. You will take ownership of workshop setup, service quality, customer satisfaction, and regional partner support. Structured onboarding and ongoing technical training will be provided by our global service teams in Norway, the United States, and China.

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery & Technical Support

  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and field support for gas analyzer systems (workshop and on-site).

  • Support commissioning, start-up, and site acceptance testing.

  • Act as escalation point for complex technical cases and coordinate with global product experts for resolution.

Workshop Setup & Operations

  • Establish and manage the Singapore service workshop, including tools, test equipment, procedures, and HSE compliance.

  • Manage spare parts planning and inventory accuracy to ensure effective turnaround times.

  • Maintain high standards of service documentation, calibration/verification records, and root-cause analysis reporting.

Regional Support & Partner Enablement

  • Travel to customer sites and regional partners to deliver on-site technical support.

  • Provide technical guidance and case follow-up with local distributors and partners.

  • Contribute to internal and external technical training as regional capability expands.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Plan and prioritize service activities to meet response and resolution targets.

  • Identify recurring technical issues and implement corrective actions (process, tooling, training, documentation).

  • Develop and track service KPIs (e.g., response time, turnaround time, first-time-fix rate, backlog, parts usage).

    Requirements

    • Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident.

    • Proven experience in service or field support for industrial instrumentation, gas analyzers, or process measurement systems.

    • Strong troubleshooting capability in complex electro-mechanical systems using structured fault-finding methods.

    • Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the APAC region.

    • Strong English communication skills (spoken and written), including clear customer-facing technical reporting.

    • Demonstrated coordination or leadership experience (e.g., senior technician, project lead, supervisor).

    • Strong safety mindset and familiarity with industrial site practices.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Direct experience with TDLAS gas analyzers or optical spectroscopy technologies.

      • Experience with gas sampling/conditioning systems, calibration gases, and analyzer validation routines.

      • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet, Modbus/TCP, industrial I/O).

      • Experience setting up or managing a workshop function (tools, spares, SOPs, KPIs).

      • People management experience (hiring, coaching, performance management).

        Training & Support

        • Structured onboarding and technical training delivered by global service teams.

        • Ongoing access to product documentation, escalation support, and remote collaboration with international experts.
