The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Lead Engineer – Process & Equipment (Mechanical) to join our client's project in Singapore. This pivotal role involves leading the engineering activities for the mechanical process, calculations, and equipment scope within combined cycle power projects. You will be instrumental in ensuring technical compliance, timely delivery, and budget adherence for critical work packages, driving a coordinated approach across all engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
- Assume technical, cost, and schedule accountability for your designated engineering scope of supply and services, from project inception through to warranty handover.
- Lead and coordinate the execution of process and product engineering deliverables pertaining to the Water-Steam Cycle (WSC) and Balance of Plant (BOP) Mechanical Systems.
- Manage technical interfaces with major suppliers for Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, and Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG).
- Develop and review critical engineering documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Design Manuals, and provide electrical load list inputs to other disciplines.
- Perform and validate process sizing, equipment sizing, and line sizing calculation reports.
- Support and coordinate specialized studies such as HAZOP, Noise, and Performance studies.
- Prepare technical specifications and conduct thorough technical analyses for Mechanical BOP packages during tender phases.
- Oversee and follow up with suppliers for WSC and BOP packages, ensuring adherence to technical requirements and schedules.
- Conduct contract reviews, identify risks, and define design review needs and conceptual requirements.
- Initiate and lead start-up meetings with assigned package vendors, maintaining ongoing follow-up.
- Contribute to the Master Time Schedule (MTS), validate the final baseline, and strategically allocate resources according to project demands.
- Ensure seamless and timely information exchange and coordination with other engineering functions (Electrical, I&C, Civil, Construction, Piping).
- Provide expert support to the Purchasing department in issuing Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and finalizing Purchase Orders (POs) for main equipment and BOP Mechanical packages.
- Monitor the supply chain for main equipment and packages through to commissioning, coordinating necessary inspections and tests.
- Assist the Project Engineering Manager in achieving project economic targets, including the identification and preparation of claims.
- Act as the primary representative for your engineering discipline within the project team and in interactions with the client.
- Manage the preparation and coordination of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and "As-Built" documentation.
- Offer crucial technical assistance to site teams during construction and commissioning phases.
- Support the project team in the efficient close-out of punch items.
- Ensure all work packages comply with applicable laws, codes, and international engineering standards.
- Uphold and enforce strict compliance with EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) rules, regulations, and policies.
- Adhere to established engineering processes and corresponding work instructions.
- Facilitate the proper recording and utilization of technical experience feedback from projects.
- Champion "design for construction" and "design to cost" principles throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in power plant engineering, specifically in process, calculation, and product engineering, with at least 3 years in a Lead Engineer role.
- Profound knowledge of applicable international engineering codes and standards.
- Deep understanding of Water-Steam Cycle (WSC) and Balance of Plant (BOP) Mechanical Packages within combined cycle power projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of the functional aspects related to power plant operation.
- Expertise in the main design aspects of combined cycle power plant equipment, P&ID, PFD, and technical specifications.
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics and proficiency in heat & mass balance calculations.
- Familiarity with P&ID and PFD drawing software is an advantage.
