Job Description

Business Engagement & Requirement Discovery

  • Work closely with underwriting, finance, and claims teams to understand current reporting challenges, manual processes, and decision-making gaps.
  • Conduct requirement workshops and one-on-one discussions with business users to identify priority use cases for analytics and reporting.
  • Act as the primary business interface between stakeholders and technical (BI / data) teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.

Analytics & Reporting Enablement

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications, KPIs, metrics and dashboard requirements.
  • Support the identification of predictive and analytical use cases (e.g., risk insights, revenue indicators, portfolio trends) based on available data.
  • Collaborate with BI developers to validate dashboards, ensure business relevance, and drive adoption by end users.

Data Understanding & Validation

  • Analyze data sourced directly from core insurance systems (no existing data warehouse / ODS) and support data validation with business users.
  • Help define logical data views and business definitions to enable consistent reporting and self‑service analytics where feasible.
  • Identify data quality issues and work with technical teams to prioritize remediation.

Pilot Execution & Value Demonstration

  • Support the execution of a pilot engagement by ensuring early delivery of high‑impact dashboards and insights.
  • Contribute to recommendations and a future analytics roadmap based on pilot outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience

Domain Expertise

  • Strong experience in Insurance or Reinsurance, preferably in underwriting, reinsurance treaties, exposure management, claims, or finance reporting.
  • Ability to speak the business language of insurance and translate it into analytical requirements.

Data & BI Knowledge

  • Good understanding of Power BI (dashboard concepts, KPIs, filters, user interaction) or similar  BI tools like Cognos
  • Comfort working with raw, structured data from core systems in on‑prem environments.
