Java / AI Backend Engineer

Job Summary

You will design, develop, and maintain backend enterprise software and AI/ML-powered services, collaborating with clients and AI teams to deploy intelligent applications and support long-term project implementation on-site.

Responsibilities

• Analyze software product requirements and design technical architecture in collaboration with client vendors
• Develop backend components for enterprise software products and platform services using Java technologies
• Manage development processes including testing, deployment, and production maintenance to ensure software reliability
• Provide on-site project implementation and long-term development support at client locations
• Design, develop, and integrate AI/ML-powered backend services such as LLM applications, intelligent agents, knowledge base services, and API orchestration layers
• Build and maintain data pipelines, integrate vector databases, and develop model-serving APIs for AI-driven applications
• Collaborate with AI and data teams to deploy machine learning models and GenAI services into production environments

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, or related fields with 3+ years of Java backend development experience
• Strong computer science fundamentals with expertise in Java, object-oriented development, common design patterns, and JVM principles
• Proficient in Java frameworks including Spring, Spring Boot, MyBatis, and JPA; familiar with databases such as MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server
• Familiar with application servers like Tomcat and JBoss, Linux environments, and command-line operations
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML integration, including RESTful integration with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models)
• Knowledge of RAG architecture, vector databases (Pinecone, Milvus, Weaviate, pgvector), prompt engineering, agent workflow orchestration, and model inference services
• Experience with microservices architecture, API gateways, and message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Experience in cloud deployment and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Prior experience in industrial software systems, MES, semiconductor manufacturing, or smart factory systems
• Strong communication skills, teamwork, ownership mindset, and ability to learn quickly
