Junior DevOps Engineer/SRE Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the management and troubleshooting of servers, networks, and applications to maintain system reliability and performance under guidance.
• Assist in the daily deployment and monitoring of business systems to ensure continuous operation and timely incident response.
• Participate in operation and maintenance activities to support platform security and system performance.
• Assist senior team members in maintaining operational standards and following established operation and maintenance procedures.
• Support the implementation and adherence to standardized operation processes for the DevOps team, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Assist in automation deployment tasks and support the configuration and use of monitoring systems to improve operational efficiency.
• Support the management of version control systems (SVN/Git) and assist in maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Assist in configuring and maintaining Nginx servers and load balancers (SLB) to support traffic management and system availability.
• Perform Linux system administration tasks with a focus on system security and stability under supervision.
• Support network-related configurations including firewall, VPN, DHCP, DNS, and high availability/load balancing technologies.
• Assist in analysing and resolving system faults, following escalation procedures when necessary.
• Support safe operation and maintenance practices within cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud under guidance.
• Assist in using tools and environments including Hyper-Cloud, Cloudform/AWX, ELK, Zabbix, Jenkins/VSTS, and GitLab to support daily operational workflows.

Required Competencies and Qualifications

• Diploma Bachelor’s Degree, or Professional Qualification in Engineering (Computer / Telecommunication / Electrical / Electronic), Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in system administration, site reliability engineering, operation and maintenance, or related IT roles.
• Basic understanding of Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as SVN or Git.
• Willingness to learn and work with automation, monitoring, and cloud-based platforms.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under guidance in operational environments.

Preferred Competencies and Qualifications

• Familiarity with the Node.js runtime environment to support application deployment and troubleshooting.
• Exposure to high availability and load balancing technologies.
• Exposure to operation and maintenance activities for websites or web application platforms.
