Job Description

Build the Digital Platform Backbone

  • Design and implement a standardised cloud-native platform across SingPost
  • Lead Kubernetes platform strategy (EKS / hybrid environments)
  • Establish reusable platform components for engineering teams

Own Developer Platform & Engineering Enablement

  • Build and scale an internal developer platform (IDP)
  • Standardise CI/CD pipelines, deployment models, and environments
  • Improve developer productivity and reduce time-to-deploy

Drive Modern Architecture Patterns

  • Implement event-driven architectures (Kafka, streaming)
  • Guide microservices design and API standards (REST, gRPC)
  • Improve system resilience, scalability, and fault tolerance

Reduce Vendor Dependency

  • Work alongside SI partners (Accenture, NCS, DXC, etc.) but challenge and elevate their designs
  • Build critical capabilities in-house where it makes sense
  • Ensure long-term maintainability and cost efficiency

Engineering Standards & Governance

  • Define and enforce:
  • Platform standards
  • Security (TLS, mTLS, zero trust principles)
  • Observability (logs, metrics, tracing)
  • Drive DevSecOps practices across teams

Hands-On Leadership

  • Lead a team of engineers and architects (Singapore + offshore)
  • Stay close to the code and architecture
  • Review designs, debug issues, and guide implementation


Requirement

  • Experience leading engineering teams (10–20+ engineers)
  • Ability to mentor engineers and raise technical standards
  • Comfortable working with both internal teams and external partners
  • Experienced in the following:
  • Kafka / event streaming
  • APIs (REST, gRPC, GraphQL)
  • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Solid networking fundamentals (TCP, TLS, mTLS)
