Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management
· Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot servers, networks, virtualization platforms and IT infrastructure (on-premise and cloud where applicable)
· Monitor system performance, availability and capacity to ensure services meet agreed service levels
· Perform ongoing monitoring of system logs, security alerts and performance metrics, and resolve technical issues proactively
· Participate in capacity planning, system upgrades, infrastructure refresh projects and disaster recovery testing
Security & Backup
· Test, deploy and maintain security patches and updates for operating systems, servers, network devices and critical systems
· Support and maintain IT security practices, including endpoint protection, access control, system hardening and vulnerability remediation
· Maintain and improve backup, disaster recovery and redundancy strategies to ensure business continuity
Cloud & System Improvement
· Support Microsoft 365 / cloud services administration (where applicable), including user management and system configuration
· Automate routine operational tasks where possible (e.g. scripting, system housekeeping, monitoring improvements)
· Evaluate and recommend new technologies and improvements to enhance system performance, security and efficiency
Support & Operations
· Handle escalated technical support cases and provide root-cause analysis with long-term solutions
· Liaise and work closely with vendors, internal stakeholders and other IT teams to support technical projects and resolve issues
Documentation & Governance
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, including infrastructure diagrams, inventory, subscriptions and support contracts
· Document technical issues, resolutions and best practices to support knowledge sharing within the team
· Identify and recommend technical solutions that align with business requirements and operational needs
Education and Work requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Computer Science / IT related discipline with minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in supporting networks, Servers, PCs and OS
- Experience with Windows Servers (2012, 2016)
- Knowledge of infrastructure services and functions (eg. AD, GPO, IIS, DNS, DHCP, File and Print, TCP/IP, LAN and VLAN)
- Experience with virtualization and monitoring systems (eg. VMWare, SD-WAN and Zabbix)
- Hands on knowledge with Fortigate / Fortinet firewall products
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong customer focus and communication skills
- Strong accountability and sense of responsibility
- Ability to efficiently multi-task and be self-motivated while working with others
- Willing to work outside office hours when necessary
- Knowledge of MS AX, MS SQL, MS Excel VBA, MS Access is an added advantage
- Sound knowledge in Microsoft Dynamics / AX accounting software will be an advantage
- Able to perform under work pressure and deadline
