AI Engineer (Natural Language Processing) for AI Singapore (Products)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and fine-tune Large Language Models and their related technologies (e.g. data pipeline and evaluation framework) for underrepresented languages
• Perform literature review of AI and LLM papers and apply the principles to build AI products
• Conduct innovative research on LLM evaluation and alignment
• Be involved in the end-to-end model building effort, from data preparation, model training to API deployment
• Reproduce, test and enhance algorithms from research papers
• Partner with external parties, including global AI research labs and regional AI ecosystem players
• Present research findings at technical conferences and seminars
• Self-learn the latest technological development in the rapidly changing AI frontier technology landscape
• Collaborate and coach junior AI engineers and interns on the practical aspects of LLM development

For Project-Based Spokes (Translation)

• Define clear scope, success criteria, and exit conditions upfront
• Plan for knowledge transfer and wind-down when objectives are met

Requirements

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Familiar with NLP tasks and modern NLP models
• Fluent in Python, PyTorch, Hugging Face, AllenNLP and related NLP libraries
• Experience in building and improving NLP deep learning models
• Experience working with container services such as Dockers and Kubernetes
• Experience working with Git, RESTful API
• Experience working with frontend such as React and TypeScript is a plus
• Experience in cloud services
• Good communication skills - written and spoken
