Business Analyst (Application Support / In-House Systems)

Job Description

We are seeking a capable and detail-oriented Business Analyst to support and enhance business-critical in-house applications. This role sits close to operations and delivery, requiring strong requirements analysis, stakeholder coordination, and hands-on validation using basic SQL queries. The applications supported are mission-critical in nature, such as finance or healthcare systems, and the role includes standby support responsibilities.

This position is suited for a Business Analyst who is comfortable working in regulated, high-availability environments and can balance analysis, coordination, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage business users and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements
• Support in-house, business-critical applications with high availability and operational impact
• Translate business requirements into clear specifications for development and technical teams
• Perform basic SQL queries to validate data, investigate issues, and support functional analysis
• Support user acceptance testing, defect triage, and solution validation
• Work closely with development, QA, infrastructure, and support teams throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Participate in production support activities, including issue analysis and root cause support
• Provide standby support as required for critical applications
• Maintain clear documentation including requirements, process flows, and operational procedures
• Contribute to continuous improvement of business processes and system usage

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline
• Experience working as a Business Analyst supporting in-house enterprise applications
• Exposure to business-critical systems such as finance, healthcare, or other regulated environments
• Ability to write and execute basic SQL queries for data validation and analysis
• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in environments requiring standby or after-hours support
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across technical and business teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting applications with high availability or regulatory requirements
• Exposure to production support or application support environments
• Familiarity with SDLC or Agile delivery models
