Job Description

Summary:

The Contract Project Manager (PM) has advanced experience managing projects, preferably within Financial Services Industry or Government environments. The role is responsible for planning, directing, and ensuring the successful delivery of large‑scale, customer‑facing projects during the term of the contract engagement. The PM builds and maintains effective working relationships with the Professional Services leadership, internal delivery teams, customers, and external partners to ensure project objectives, milestones, and contractual deliverables are achieved.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibility 80% of time:

  • Manages customer-facing projects that are typically high in complexity, length, budget, risks, etc.
  • Develops and manages detailed project plans that convey key activities, timelines, and resource requirements necessary to achieve project objectives.
  • Lead and coordinate large, cross‑functional, and multi‑vendor project teams without direct line management authority.
  • Manage project financials, including tracking budgets, forecasts, and variances in alignment with contractual agreements

  • Provide regular and transparent status reporting to the management, customers, and partners covering progress, risks, issues, and key performance indicators
  • Identify, assess, and drive resolution of project risks and issues

Responsibility 20% of time:

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of project management processes, templates, and best practices as applicable during the engagement

Other Responsibilities:

The Contract Project Manager is responsible for adhering to the company’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting any known or suspected violations encountered during the engagement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience

  • 8+ years Project Management experience, at least 3 of those in a Financial Services Industry (FSI) or Service Integrator (SI) environment(s).
  • Experience managing Systems Integration projects.
  • Proven track record of managing large scale, customer-facing projects in Government / Public sector

Functional/Technical Skills

  • Proficient with project management practices and tools
  • Proficient in creating complex project schedules in MS Project
  • Advanced to expert level organizational, analytical, and execution skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into Customer needs.
  • Proven ability to manage a variety of business, internal, and vendor resources
  • Advanced to Expert level written & verbal communication as well as in presentation skills
  • Advanced to Expert level interpersonal skills and collaborative work style; expert in negotiations and conflict management.
  • Proven demonstration of initiative and ability to advance projects while managing multiple initiatives
  • Dedicated to meeting and delivering on project objectives
  • Advanced understanding of the MS Office Tools (MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced understanding of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Discipline (Integration, Scope, Time, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk Management, Procurement)

Qualifications:

PMP, a similar certification or 10+ years of experience in Project Management
