The Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with hands-on experience building AI-powered platforms, particularly systems that support chatbots, agent-driven workflows, and streaming LLM experiences. This role is backend-heavy. You will own the design and implementation of the core backend architecture for a multi-agent AI platform, including data pipelines, agent orchestration, real-time messaging, and integration with AI models. You will work closely with frontend and AI engineers, but your primary focus is building scalable, reliable, and efficient backend systems that translate AI capabilities into production-ready services.

Job Description

Design & Development:

• Handle demand analysis, system design, and module-level design of back-end business functions, ensuring scalable and modular architectures.
• Design, develop, and maintain efficient, high-performance back-end services and APIs, emphasizing clean, maintainable code and following best practices.
• Drive continuous optimization of a cloud-native back-end technology stack, leveraging modern frameworks and tools (e.g., ABP, Orleans) to ensure scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.

Technology & Product Enhancement:

• Contribute to the evolution of the product's core back-end modules, improving code quality, implementing clean code principles, and advocating for coding best practices across the team.
• Integrate event sourcing and CQRS patterns to improve system flexibility, maintainability, and auditability.
• Collaborate closely with the product, front-end, and DevOps teams to deliver seamless end-to-end features and functionality.

Performance Optimization & Problem-Solving:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve critical issues and performance bottlenecks at scale, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system throughput.
• Investigate and implement performance tuning strategies for databases, distributed caches, and messaging systems.

Emerging Technologies & Domain Expertise:

• Engage with blockchain and trading system concepts to design and implement secure, robust services within decentralized or tokenized ecosystems.
• Explore and integrate AI Agent technologies into the back-end to enhance automation, decision-making, and intelligent workflow management.
• Stay current with advancements in web3 technologies, distributed architectures, and AI-driven solutions, applying them to enhance system capabilities.

Operational Excellence & Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business needs and deliver features on schedule.
• Participate in ongoing operational tasks, including deployment, monitoring, alerting, and documentation, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Job Requirements

Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree or above from a public university, or more than 5 years of back-end development experience from a recognized overseas institution

Technical Proficiency & Best Practices:

• Strong computer science fundamentals, with solid programming skills, adherence to coding standards, and the habit of producing thorough documentation.
• Proficient in C# or willing to switch to the C#/.NET ecosystem. Familiarity with Linux server environments and database technologies (relational and/or NoSQL).
• Experience with modern architectural patterns and frameworks, particularly ABP and Orleans, to build distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems.
• Knowledge of clean code principles, as well as event sourcing and CQRS design patterns, and the ability to apply these concepts to create maintainable, testable, and scalable solutions.

Domain Expertise & Interests:

• Keen interest in blockchain, web3 technologies, and familiarity with relevant cryptographic frameworks or ledger technologies.
• Understanding or experience with AI Agent frameworks and machine learning concepts, with a focus on integrating AI-driven functionalities into backend services.

Soft Skills & Work Ethic:

• Excellent communication and comprehension skills, comfortable collaborating with interdisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
• Strong resilience under pressure and adaptability to rapidly changing priorities and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous work experience in the web3 field or hands-on involvement in blockchain-based projects.
• Proven track record of contributing to high-performance, production-grade distributed systems and AI-integrated backend solutions.
