Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Set overall software architecture and long-term technical roadmap
- Lead multiple engineering teams and senior technical leads
- Make high-impact decisions on system design, scalability, security, and performance
- Own delivery of mission-critical platforms with strong accountability for outcomes
- Partner with product, operations, and leadership on strategic planning and prioritization
- Establish engineering standards, governance, and best practices across teams
- Identify and mitigate technical and execution risks at the organizational level
- Own engineering resource planning, budgeting, and hiring strategy
- Drive cross-team alignment and resolve complex, company-wide architectural trade-offs
- Act as the final technical escalation point for critical incidents and high-risk decisions
- Define and track engineering performance, reliability, and quality metrics
- Mentor senior engineers and managers, building long-term leadership depth
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including senior leadership roles
- Deep expertise in system architecture, distributed systems, and modern software stacks
- Experience leading senior engineers, tech leads, and/or engineering managers
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategy into execution
- Excellent stakeholder influence and executive-level communication skills
- Strong decision-making ability under ambiguity, risk, and time pressure
- Experience setting technical direction across multiple teams or products
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience owning platforms with high availability, scale, or regulatory requirements
- Background in fast-scaling tech companies or mission-critical industries
- Prior responsibility for hiring strategy, org design, and technical succession planning
- Experience managing engineering budgets, vendor relationships, or external partners
- Exposure to cloud-native, data-intensive, or security-sensitive systems
- Prior role as Head of Engineering, Principal Engineer, or equivalent senior position
