Application Platform Engineer (Kubernetes / Middleware)

We are looking for an Application Platform Engineer to support and manage enterprise-level application platforms, containerized environments, and middleware integrations.

This role involves working closely with build and architecture teams to ensure smooth deployment, operations, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and high-availability systems.

💼 Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of one or more application products, including application support, patching, and operational maintenance
• Manage and maintain enterprise container platforms (Kubernetes / OpenShift / Cloud Foundation)
• Support WebSphere / application server setup, including high-availability (HA) configurations
• Participate in architecture discussions and provide inputs on integration points (Web services, MQ, SFTP, APIs)
• Handle container lifecycle management (image creation, repository management, deployments)
• Maintain and support microservices and web-based enterprise applications
• Manage integration platforms such as IBM MQ (queues, channels, queue managers) and API Gateway
• Execute and support DevSecOps practices, automation, and CI/CD processes
• Perform operational activities, including:OS-level and application-level patchingBackup and recoveryHousekeeping and archival
• Ensure compliance with security standards, including system hardening, vulnerability scanning, and governance policies
• Support AWS cloud administration and platform operations

Key Skills & Requirements

Must-Have Skills:

• Experience or knowledge in Kubernetes / OpenShift container platforms
• Exposure to enterprise application architecture (3-tier, microservices)
• Hands-on or academic knowledge of IBM MQ / Messaging systems / API Gateway
• Understanding of container concepts (images, deployments, repositories)
• Basic understanding of DevOps / DevSecOps practices
