System Engineer (Infrastructure and Middleware Support) (PRIT)

Job Title: Infrastructure & Middleware Support Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure & Middleware Support Engineer to provide end-to-end technical support and maintenance for enterprise operating systems, middleware, databases, directory services, and container platforms. This role supports development and testing environments and contributes to infrastructure planning and deployment activities for customer implementations. The position requires strong hands-on expertise combined with effective collaboration across technical and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and maintain operating systems including Windows, Linux, IBM AIX, and Solaris.

• Deploy, configure, and manage middleware platforms such as IBM WebSphere, IBM MQ, Red Hat JBoss EAP, and JBoss A-MQ.

• Install, configure, and administer databases including IBM DB2, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.

• Manage LDAP services including IBM Security Directory Server and Apache LDAP.

• Deploy, operate, and maintain container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift (OCP).

• Perform system troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.

• Support bid and pre-sales activities by preparing infrastructure sizing and deployment topology.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and lead infrastructure-related technical discussions.

• Ensure system stability, security, and operational readiness for customer deployments.

Requirements & Qualifications

• 5–8 years of relevant IT experience.

• Experience in both operating system and middleware administration.

• Strong understanding of enterprise application architecture, including authentication, web, database, application, and messaging servers.

• Proficiency in Unix/Linux shell scripting.

• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.

• Willingness to work with legacy systems and modern cloud-native platforms.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud or platform certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, Red Hat).

• Experience supporting complex, multi-tier enterprise environments.
