Fixed Asset Executive (1 year contract |Up to $5K | Government Sector)

You will be part of the Fixed Assets (FA) team, responsible for ensuring the fixed asset register is accurate, complete, and compliant with prevailing policies, laws, and regulations. This role also involves supporting process improvements, governance, and operational efficiency initiatives within finance shared services.

Key Responsibilities

• Fixed Assets Reporting & Reconciliation:
  Ensure timely, accurate, and complete preparation of period-end FA reports, including:
  1) Fixed Asset Stock-take Report
  2) Development Project-in-Progress (DPIP) Report
  3) Consolidated Fixed Asset Schedule
  Perform asset verification, reconciliations, and investigate discrepancies
  Rectify erroneous transactions such as asset additions, retirements, and adjustments
  
• Asset Capitalisation Review
  Review development expenditures and assess appropriate accounting treatment
  Ensure accurate capitalisation of assets in line with policies and standards
• Process Governance & Training
  Maintain standards of excellence for FA processes and internal controls
  Conduct training and provide guidance to stakeholders on FA matters
  Ensure adherence to FA-related SOPs
  Implement process improvements to strengthen governance and controls
• Process Improvement & Automation
  Support automation and process improvement initiatives
  Utilize tools such as RPA and data analytics dashboards to enhance efficiency

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Computer Science

Experience

• Prior experience in audit is an advantage

• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Independent, proactive, and self-driven
• Good understanding of accounting principles, especially asset capitalisation
