Job Summary
Execute day-to-day laboratory operations, testing and documentation. Assist in the development of new product formulations and product testing.
Core Responsibilities
Laboratory Testing and Analysis
• Perform and analyse routine and non-routine product and in-process laboratory tests in accordance with laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and processes to ensure product quality meets established specifications.
• Records and maintains up-to-date sample testing results in the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
• Prepare and issue Certificates of Analysis (COA) in accordance with documentation requirements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
• Support investigations into inconsistent quality processes and non-conformance issues.
Sample and Material Management
• Receive, label and store raw materials and production samples in accordance with laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Handles, stores and transports hazardous substances and dangerous goods in accordance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) and Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements, and helps to respond to chemical spillages and emergencies.
Laboratory Maintenance
• Perform basic calibration and simple troubleshooting of laboratory equipment in strict accordance with laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain the cleanliness, housekeeping and safety of the laboratory, including equipment and materials used in accordance with WSH and EMS standards and practices.
Development Project
• Assist with laboratory special projects for new testing and developments, systems and equipment at the department level
• Prepare trial blends based on R&D formulations or customer specifications.
Job Specifications
Minimum education qualifications:
• Diploma or Degree in Chemistry or relevant field
Minimum Years Of Experience
• 1 year of relevant experience in laboratory work
• Experience in oil and lubricant industry an advantage
