Network Security Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to support and maintain enterprise security infrastructure in a dynamic environment. This role focuses on ensuring the stability, security, and compliance of network systems while supporting day-to-day operations and project initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for network security operations, including incident response, issue resolution, and service restoration
• Manage and implement firewall and security-related service requests in accordance with established change management processes
• Participate in and support security-related projects, including acting as a technical lead when required
• Monitor security advisories and assess risks related to vulnerabilities, patches, and firmware updates
• Plan and execute security patching and firmware upgrades across network devices
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including network configurations, diagrams, and operational procedures
• Ensure compliance with internal security standards and best practices
• Support audits and security reviews where required
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical issues and improve system performance
• Perform other operational duties as assigned

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in network security environments
• Strong experience with Next Generation Firewalls (e.g. Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet)
• Experience with IDS/IPS, VPN technologies, and Network Access Control solutions (e.g. ClearPass, Cisco ISE)
• Familiarity with firewall auditing and security management tools (e.g. AlgoSec, Tufin, FireMon)
• Solid understanding of incident and problem management processes
• Knowledge of vulnerability management, patching, and firmware upgrades
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA (required); CCNP or security certifications (PCNSE, CCSA, NSE4) are advantageous
• Exposure to network compliance frameworks is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
